The London Underground Museum

The London Underground Museum is actually called the London Transport Museum. Some people wrongly believe that the London Transport Museum exclusively focuses on the Underground, which is why they may be unaware of the museum’s true identity.

The London Underground is well-known around the world, thus travellers will often be aware of it. It’s easy to overlook the fact that London buses (the iconic London Buses) are part of the London Transport system.

The London Transport Museum’s webpage can be found here.

The London Transport Museum Shop

The shop at the London Transport Museum sells a variety of official and limited-edition Transport for London items. These are available to purchase online or in the Covent Garden shop. For the transit enthusiast, posters, novels, children’s toys, and homeware are ideal. You can also acquire genuine signs, textiles, and railwayana if you are a huge lover of London Transport.

The shop is free to enter and is located in front of the Museum in Covent Garden. Visitors to the shop are not charged entry to the museum. Souvenirs, designer presents, furniture, special moquette accessories, London-themed literature, and posters are available on two floors. The London Transport Museum Shop’s website can be found here.

The London Transport Museum for Schools

School groups can visit the Covent Garden Museum or participate in virtual workshops. EYFS, KS1, KS2, and KS3 are all served by the museum. Schools can participate in the museum’s fascinating new workshops, which are always changing. Self-guided visits are also available for schools. These allow pupils to visit the galleries at their own speed and plan their own itinerary with their teachers.

Go to the ‘Plan your school visit‘ page on the London Transport Museum website for all the information you need to book an onsite workshop, virtual workshop or self-guided visit. https://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/schools
